"My husband and I had been putting this off for years. We knew we should have things in order, but every time we tried to start, it felt like too much. The weekend workshop gave us a clear structure and we left with an actual file โ€” not just good intentions. For the first time, I know where everything is."

"I enrolled my parents in the Family Conversations programme because I was worried about what would happen if something occurred before we had spoken properly about these things. The facilitator was calm and made it easier than I expected. My parents were surprisingly open once the structure was there."

"The Family Archive Programme was the most thorough thing we did as a household in years. Ten weeks sounds long, but the tasks between sessions were manageable. What we produced โ€” the binder โ€” sits in our filing cabinet now and genuinely represents the whole picture of our household."

"I appreciated that Tallowmark is very clear about what they do not do. They are not trying to sell me a will-writing service or connect me to an estate planner. They are just helping me get my own house in order. That honesty made me trust the programme far more than I expected to."

"My sister and I attended the Family Conversations programme together after our mother's health changed and we realised we did not know half of what we needed to know. The session format gave us a reason to talk about things we had been avoiding. It was not easy, but it was worth doing."

"The binder I got from the Archive Programme sits next to our documents at home. My wife knows exactly where to find it. That alone was worth the ten weeks. The history section โ€” recording what matters and where it came from โ€” was something I had never thought to do before."

Family Stories

Family A โ€” Penang

Challenge

A couple in their mid-fifties had accumulated property, savings, and insurance across many years but held documents in three different locations and had never discussed who would handle what if one of them became incapacitated.

How They Used Tallowmark

They attended the weekend workshop, then joined the next Family Conversations cohort. Over six weeks they sorted their documents, created a clear file, and had the conversations they had been postponing.

Outcome

Both partners now know where every important document is, who to contact for each, and have a written record of their wishes to share with their solicitor. They described the process as "overdue but not as hard as we feared."

Family B โ€” Penang

Challenge

Three adult siblings living in different cities became concerned about their elderly father's household paperwork after he was hospitalised briefly. Nobody had a clear picture of what he held or where key documents were kept.

How They Used Tallowmark

The eldest sibling enrolled the father in the Family Archive Programme, attending some sessions alongside him. Over ten weeks they built a comprehensive binder covering all household documents, contacts, and key information.

Outcome

All three siblings now have access to a shared summary from the binder and know exactly what exists and where. The father said the six-month follow-up review was "the first time in years" someone helped him check that everything was still current.

Family C โ€” Penang

Challenge

A recently married couple in their thirties felt too young to think about estate planning but wanted to start forming good habits early, particularly around document keeping and talking openly about their values as a household.

How They Used Tallowmark

They started with the Family Conversations programme, which they said helped them understand what questions to ask before they needed the answers. A year later they attended the weekend workshop to get their files in order.

Outcome

They described the early investment in the conversations programme as "the best thing we did in our first year of marriage." Their household file is now well-maintained and updated annually.
